Can You Rely On Bob's Marketimer To Secure Your Future?"
Bob Brinker has been an icon in investment
management for over 25
years. As the host of his own radio show "Money Talk" where Bob answers
questions and provides advise to his listeners.
Bob gets some pretty tough criticism about
the way that he
handles listeners on Money Talk. I've read comments that range from Bob
degrading his listeners to being very thin skinned if someone offers an
opposing view. But, are you looking to learn the market or do you want
to be entertained by his personality. If his strategies prove
effective, I personally don't care what his personality is.
Bob Brinker also publishes Marketimer, his
monthly investment
newsletter which can be purchased for $187 a year. The Marketimer has
also taken some hits as Bob's predictions fell short and his long term
returns were at at 13.7% while the S&P 500 had a 15.1% return.

The
marketimer is just that, timing the
market based off buy and sell signals.
If Bob Brinker makes a good buy or sell call
investors stand to
make or save a great deal of money. But, I feel that you cannot base
all your monetary decisions on the predictions of any one person like
Bob Brinker. If his advise is all that you follow you can certainly be
missing the boat.
If you are managing your own portfolio, good
luck and god
speed. The market is extremly volatile and unpredictable with an
inherent
risk you have no control over. There are some top notch investors
losing their shirts over the collapse of Lehman Brothers and the merge
of a Merrill Lynch (Bob didn't predict that). You can try and hedge
your bets
and follow Bob Brinkers advise, you may win or lose big. In the
end, market timing is a gamble that I am not willing to take.
Bob Brinker is a longterm investment
advocate, so you will not
see any substantial investment benefits over the short term, unless of
course you invest a large chunk of your capital.
In the end, Bob Brinker has made some good
and bad calls and
their will always be critics no matter how great the advisor. Before
investing solely on Bob's advise, I would compare Bob with a few other
market timers to see if there is any consistency and be Careful.
